NERVO: IT’S ALL COLLATERAL

words: ERIN SHARONI pics: ANDREW RAUNER

“Hi! We’re at the airport again!” Liv pops up on the Skype screen, holding her phone at arm’s length while hurrying through a terminal in London’s Heathrow Airport.

“Mim’s on another call right now, so we’re tag teaming today,” Liv laughs. “I’m doing an interview with you, and she’s doing one with someone else.”

The NERVO sisters are en route to Germany.

IT'S ABOUT TIME

“What’s up, baby?” Nile Rodgers answers the phone in arpeggio. For those who have never partaken in a conversation with the storied band Chic’s co-founder, he always sounds jazzed about something. It doesn’t matter if you’ve known him three decades or you’ve only just met three minutes ago, Nile radiates affection. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman; if you’re black, white or yellow, he also can get away with calling anyone “baby” without sounding cheeky.

MARTIN GARRIX: ANIMAL ATTRACTION

Across the world right now are thousands of 17-year-old kids dreaming of making it big in the gold rush days of EDM, dance music's biggest ever boom. They live at home with their moms and dads, making music on a laptop in their bedroom, posting their productions on SoundCloud, leaving links in the comments of YouTube videos and maybe even sending off the best tracks to their favorite labels and DJs. All of them dream of traveling the world and playing their music to thousands of fans.

FLOSSTRADAMUS: A NEW NATION

The depths and channels of the world wide web are staggering, many of its areas have yet to even be truly dredged. For some, the internet is an inherent instinct. Born in the late '90s or early millennial years, the internet is not a gift, but a part of our DNA as humans. A backbone in society that some have never lived without. For countless others, the internet is a blessing. Something that has yet to depreciate in value, and because we were not born into it, we have learned to not only accept it, but appreciate it.
