This year, 18hrs Festival is celebrating its 5th anniversary on 11th July. The mammoth 18 hour party will please ravers with techno, deep and tech house until the break of dawn. A 10 minute drive from Amsterdam, the festival will take place at the Balkenhaven-terrein in Zaandam.

International football and dance music have always gone hand-in-hand, just check our current World Cup special featuring a Brazilian team of Norms.

We've all been to festivals while games are being screened and a club is always a good place to celebrate a big win — or drown the sorrow of a defeat.

Carl Cox: The Revolution - 'The Party Unites'

The 'King Of Clubs' celebrated his 50th birthday last year, but thankfully he's in no mood to take it easy just yet. One of the island's most revered nights is cranked up another notch this summer, with even more heavyweight line-ups and surprises in store. As always with Cox's night, there'll be an influx of different genres on show too, with house and techno most prominent alongside a sporadic smattering of electro and drum & bass.

Another name in the raft of new nights entering the island this summer, Insane is Pacha's new Friday night and replaces last summer's All Gone Pete Tong. Bedrock boss John Digweed is the master of ceremonies for this one, and he's called on a number of his industry cronies to concoct a series of line-ups that could yet prove one of 2013's biggest success stories. There's no sign of Sasha joining him for a back-to-back session just yet, but hey, anything's possible in Ibiza, right?

Music On

After the success of his inaugural season at Amnesia last year, it's no great surprise to see Italian techno titan Marco Carola presiding over matters again this season at the famous San Rafel institution. 2012's line-ups were cleverly created with both house and techno flavours in mind, with the same musical theme adhered to this time about. Further evidence of the underground's dominance on the island, expect this one to be rammed each and every week, with Carola's fellow countrymen sure to arrive en masse.
