Des McAnuff (the mind behind the Jersey Boys musical) is reportedly making a musical on the life of Disco icon Donna Summer.
According to an article published in the New York Post, the Tony Award-winning director held a rehearshal for the show earlier this week.
The Donna Summer Project rehearsal, known in the industry as a workshop, saw three different actors portraying Summer, each at a different time of her life and included classic songs from the artist such as 'Love To Love You Baby', 'On The Radio' and 'Bad Girls'.
Several of the roles were also gender-fluid, with women playing the likes of Summer's first husband Helmuth Sommer, from whom she took her surname.
A source who witnessed the workshop claimed the show was looking “swift, energetic, sharp — Des at his best.”
