Numark has announced a new DJ hardware unit, the MixStream Pro. It’s designed to be used without a computer and can stream music from multiple sources including Beatport LINK, Beatsource LINK, TIDAL and SoundCloud Go+. Tracks are buffered to an internal memory system so they won’t drop out if you lose connection. You can even use Dropbox to store your music and access it straight from the device without a computer.
Numark has announced two new Party Mix controllers, both featuring RGB lighting that syncs to the music. The Party Mix Live also features built-in speakers so you can quickly get the party started without a full speaker setup. More traditional features include touch-sensitive jog wheels, filter knobs per channel, transport and pitch control, two-band EQ per deck, performance pads for samples, effects, cue points and looping.
Numark has announced two new entry-level controllers, the two-channel ProFX and the four-channel Platinum FX.
The Platinum FX features the ability to switch control to deck three and four, as well as controlling decks one and two. It also features six-inch jogs with on-jog displays that tell you time remaining, bpm, platter position and potch adjustment. There are eight performance pads per channel with four modes including Cue, AutoLoop, Sample and FaderCuts, which mimics scratching crossfader techniques.
Numark have added the NTX1000 turntable to their product line. The new deck features a heavy-weight motor, customizable functions, built-in USB and phono amp as well as up to 50% pitch control.

Up until recent times, making DJ speakers was considered a very specialist game. Only a handful of trusted speaker companies made speakers that enjoyed a good reputation among DJs and dance music fans. However, these days more than a few DJ equipment manufacturers have started to explore this area of the market, releasing their own set of DJ monitors which, to be honest, have met with varying degrees of success.
