Pioneer DJ has launched their latest affordable two-channel mixer, the DJM–250MK2. The new unit is an upgrade of one of their most popular mixers, the DJM–250MK1.

The new mixer is the entry point into Pioneer’s DJM range, retailing at just £299, but it’s not lacking in detail, incorporating some of the professional features found in Pioneer DJ’s top of the range model the DJM–900NXS.

Standout features include two phono amps, individual Sound Color FX filters on both channels, the addition of USB so it can be used as a multi-channel soundcard and a Magvel crossfader.

Pioneer DJ unveiled their Toraiz AS-1 at NAMM Music Technology Conference in LA last week (Thursday 19th January), which aims at introducing synthesisers to the DJ booth.

Now German YouTube channel Bonedo, self described as a comprehensive online channel for musicians and recording, has unveiled a demo video of Pioneer DJ’s Toraiz AS-1 in action. You can watch it below.

Pioneer DJ have announced the release of the brand’s first analogue synth, the TORAIZ AS-1, just in time for NAMM Music Technology Conference in LA. 

Continuing their rolling collaboration with Dave Smith, the new synth sees Pioneer DJ once again hooking up with the legendary tech guru to develop this DJ-friendly synthesiser, that is equally at home in the studio or as part of an extended DJ set-up.

Pioneer DJ has upgraded their flagship Serato DJ controller with the all-new DDJ-SZ2.

The updated and upgraded four-channel controller now allows DJs to get hands on with the latest additions to Serato DJ, including key shift, key sync, pitch play and Serato Flip.

The multicoloured Performance Pads gives instant visual feedback on pad modes and playing statuses, and the jog wheels have been improved to lower the latency so that scratching is more responsive and precise than before.

Serato DJ is now compatible with the DVS feature of Pioneer DJ’s DJM-900NXS2 mixer, and the USB-HID control feature of their CDJ-2000NXS2 multiplayer.

Simply connect the DJM-900NXS2 mixer to a PC/Mac and instantly use Serato DJ’s NoiseMap feature to control all your digital tracks using turntables (with the Serato DJ control vinyl) or via the jog wheels on multiplayers (using Serato control CDs).

Pioneer DJ has released its WeDJ app for iPhone, an optimised version of their recently launched DJing app allowing budding DJs and music lovers to get deep down and dirty in the mix, whilst on the go. 

WeDJ for iPhone has all the same features as the iPad version of the app. The colourful visual display offers up all the information and controls DJs need to perform seamless mixes. The colours of the waveforms and jog wheels change to match the colours of album cover images so you can easily keep track of what’s on each deck.
