Poll Clubs 2016: REX CLUB

Nothing has changed at the most legendary club in France during the last 12 months. And why should it? Let’s start with the basics. One of the oldest venues on the nocturnal map, with a past that goes back further than the 28 years of electronic music Laurent Garnier jump-started, Rex Club is a mecca for Parisians and global clubbers in the know.

The proud home of nights such as Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant, D’Julz’s Bass Culture, Deeply Rooted — lead by DJ Deep — and the Didier Allyne and Phil Weeks soiree, Get Underground, based on residents alone — which also include Djebali, Chloe, Ivan Smagghe, Seuil and Le Loup — you could happily come here week in, week out, and never get bored. This is before we mention the constant stream of major guests — Seth Troxler, Lil’ Louis, Derrick May, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Ellen Allien, Apollonia, Mr. G, Peter Van Hoesen, and Matias Aguayo to name but a handful from recent times. Still one room only, still sporting a mighty D&B system so everyone can hear everything crystal-clear, no matter where they are inside, its status as a permanent fixture on our Top 100 Clubs list should surprise nobody.

Built from several interconnecting platforms bobbing in the Adriatic Sea, Noa Beach Club is a luxe Croatian beach club like no other. The platforms each host a range of different activities — including cocktail bars, day beds, a VIP area, several pools and even a few “private islands” and secluded lounges. During the daytime, visitors stick to the club's outer ring: there's a specially designed area for sunbathing, sea-jumping, and chilling by the water. It's at night fall that Noa really goes into overdrive — the club's main dancefloor is packed to bursting point almost every night throughout the summer.

Music-wise, Noa's booking policy is heavily EDM, with the club aiming to please a wide cross-section of European visitors. Last year saw Noa welcome huge EDM acts including Nervo, Dyro, Bassjackers and Klingand, with Steve Aoki, Bassjackers and Tujamo already confirmed for this year's 2016 season. Best bit of all? After you've finished thrashing about to the biggest tracks on Beatport all night long, you can jump straight off the side for a dip. Best be packing those bathers!

Poll Clubs 2015: PARADISE CLUB

Wanna party to EDM till dawn on a picturesque cliff-top overlooking the Aegean? Well, at Paradise Club such a scenario is entirely possible! Suspended on a rocky outcrop on the Greek Island of Mykonos, Paradise takes its name from the beach above which it hangs: the idyllic sands of Mykonos’ Paradise Beach. Paradise Club prides itself on more than just its Mediterranean location, they’ve also got some of the best mainstream house and EDM line-ups in the region.

Steve Aoki and Avicii have both done their EDM thang at Paradise, plus UK trance legends Above & Beyond and Dutch house titan, Afrojack. During the day visitors can relax by Paradise Club’s enormous outdoor pool, before heading to the club’s outdoor arena after sundown.

Billed as one of the biggest and most famous clubs in Europe, Paradise is so popular they even do merch (taking cues from mega Ibiza party brands like Space and Pacha), meaning you can leave the club fully stocked with t-shirts and vests or even a ‘Paradise Club Compilation’ CD for the kick on!
